Timothy Nielsen

Timothy Gene Nielsen, 49, Pasadena, CA, died July 5, 2006. He was born on February 12, 1957 in Fortuna, California, to parents Norval and Helen. He was raised in York, Nebraska, and went on to graduate from York High School where he honed his creative talents in drama, music, and art. Tim relocated to Southern California where he built his career in the advertising industry. He led the creative team at Transamerica Insurance & Investments, and it was through this position that Tim became actively involved in the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation. He also served on the Board of Directors for the VHL Family Alliance. Perhaps his proudest affiliation was his membership in Californians for Nebraska, a group with whom he shared his passion for the Cornhuskers.

Tim is survived by his daughter, Jill Nielsen of Henderson, Nevada; mother, Helen Nielsen and special friend Bill Walker of Yankton, South Dakota; brother, Andy Nielsen of Genoa, Nebraska; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Memorial services were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church, in York. Inurnment followed at York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
