Steve D. Nichols, age 50, of York, NE, passed away on October 6, 2012 at York. He was born January 4, 1962 at Henderson, NE to Charles and Rose Marie (Rech) Nichols. Steve graduated from Bradshaw High School in 1979 and worked for several years as an office clerk for Roger Bailey. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in York and was an avid card player, especially pitch.
Steve is survived by his parents, Charles and Rose Marie of Bradshaw; sister, brother-in-law, and nephew, Cheryl, Robert, and Clayton Tobin of Lincoln; brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Linda Nichols of Lincoln; special friend Joanne Winter of York; aunts and uncles, especially Donna and Harry Hoffman of LaVista, NE; cousins; and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and special card-playing friend, Mamie Hubble.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church
in York with Monsignor James Reinert officiating. Private burial was at a later date.
A Rosary was said at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at Metz Mortuary, York, NE.
