Eugene Neville
Eugene C.”Gene” Neville, age 73, of York, NE, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at Lincoln, NE.
He was born November 1, 1934 in York County, NE to William L. and Irene (Samson) Neville. On November 26, 1955, he was married to Marlene Wright at Evanston, IL. Gene was an Army veteran and served in the Korean War. He was a lifelong farmer in the York and McCool Jct. area and also worked part time with Neville Construction. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in York, a former member of the York Legion Club and Knights of Columbus. He loved farming and visiting with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Marlene of York; children: Mike Neville of Grand Island, NE, Karen (Tim) Wellman of York, Bob Neville of Omaha, NE, Paul (Janet) Neville of Clinton, OK, Pat Neville of Kearney, NE, and Chris Neville of Lincoln; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are three brothers: William F. Neville of Geneva, NE, Donald L. (Sue) Neville of McCool Jct., Dennis J. (Anita) Neville of York; one sister, Sister Eileen Neville of Yankton, SD; sister-in law Rita Neville of Falls City, NE; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother John E. “Jack,” and sister-in-law, Feliciene Neville.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 14, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in York with Father Thomas Dunavan officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. A Rosary was said Sunday evening at the mortuary at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the educational fund for upcoming priests in care of Father Ken Borowiak.
