VELMA MILLER

Velma M. Miller age 85 of York, NE died Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at York. She was born June 20, 1920 in rural Wabash NE to William H. and Wilhelmina (Obernotle) McBride and was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in York. Velma was employed at First National Bank in York for ten years and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the York DOES. On June 25, 1936 she was married to Sterling M. Miller in Iowa. She is survived by her husband Sterling of York, five sons Larry and his wife Kathleen Miller of Burwell, NE, Jerry and his wife Linda Miller of Espanols, NM and Tom and his wife Carole Miller of York, Bill and his wife Gail Miller of Lincoln and John Miller of York. Two daughters, Mary Jane Logan of Hugo, OK and Candy Gocke of Lincoln. 15 Grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother Howard and his wife Ellen McBride of Humiston, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers Amzi, Ivan and Oris.

There will be no public services as Velma’s body has been cremated. Memorials may be directed to the Elks National Foundation.
