Eldon Miller

Eldon D. Miller age 76 of York, NE, died Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at York. He was born April 27, 1934 at Milford, NE to William and Esta (Stutzman) Miller. Eldon farmed in the Milford area for a time and then moved to York where he worked for Sundstrand, York Manufacturing and finally for Kroy. He attended Arbor Drive Community Church and was a lifelong member of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship. His hobbies included woodworking and gardening. Eldon and Arla LeAnn Burkey were married on June 8, 1956 at Milford.

Survivors include his wife Arla LeAnn of York; son Gary (Irene) Miller of McCool Jct., NE; two daughters, Janna (Steve) Gerig of Albany, OR and Cheryl (Al) Parker of Joelton, TN; five grandchildren, Alicia Miller, Jared Miller and Ashley Reynolds all of York, Jason Gerig of Chicago, IL, Seth Parker of Joelton, TN. Also surviving are two brothers, Richard (Sharon) Miller of Springfield, OR, and Bill & (DeWanda) Miller of Shedd, OR; two sisters, Ruth Elaine (Lonnie) Vogt of Seward, NE, and Marilyn (Elden) Smucker of Junction City, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Arla Mae Neuschwander, and brother-in-law Wilfred Yoder.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 23, 2010 at the Arbor Drive Community Church in York. Burial was in York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Parkinson’ research or to the family for later designation.
