Burley McClure
Burley Bert McClure, age 86 of Waco, died Saturday, May 28, 2005, at Waco. He was born October 4, 1918, at Red Cloud, NE to Charles E. and Zetta M. (Grewell) McClure. On March 4, 1944, he was married to Pearl E. Miltner at Belleville, KS and they enjoyed 61 years of marriage. Burley was a retired longtime Waco area farmer and had worked at Hughes Brothers in Seward and at the York Livestock Commission. He was an avid sports fan and a longtime member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church south of Waco.
He is survived by his wife Pearl of Waco; son James and his wife Kathy of Omaha; daughter Marilyn and her husband Michael Hyde of Utica; 4 grandchildren, David McClure of Lincoln, Jennifer (Jason) Hirschfeld of York, Lori (Mitchell) Wambold of Lincoln and Kristen Hyde of Utica; great-grandchild Brynn Hirschfeld of York; 2 sisters, Betty Klundt of Fort Collins, CO and Maxine Hayes of Greeley, CO and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents and 7 brothers & sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at the Metz Chapel in York with the Rev. Michael Laing officiating. Burial will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery south of Waco. Memorials may be directed to Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin at 1 pm Monday at the mortuary.
