Donald William Lytle

Donald William Lytle, 87 of Benedict, NE, died Saturday, January 31, 2004 in Lincoln. He was born September 30, 1916 on a farm near Benedict to William “Bill” and Ina (Howard) Lytle. He was a 1935 graduate of Benedict High School. Don married Fay Sherman on March 8, 1938 in Marysville, KS. The couple lived and farmed the land his grandmother purchased in 1885. His son and now his grandsons farm the ground. Don always had a life lesson or story to tell and sweet corn or roses to share with family and friends. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Benedict.

Survivors included his wife of 65 years, Fay of Benedict; daughter and son-in-law, Donna & Gary Folts of Benedict; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry & Jean Lylte of Benedict; grandchildren, Debbie and Rick Kinning of Golden, CO, Chris Potter of Eugene, OR, Scott and Beth Folts of Benedict, Steven and Lynn Folts of Benedict, Kevin and Lisa Lytle of Scottsdale, AZ, Craig and Cheri Lytle of Omaha; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Sally Martin of Rapid City, SD; sisters-in-law, Vivian Rich of Mesa, AZ, Rose Sherman of York, Dot Sherman of Houston, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, daughter Linda Potter and great-granddaughter Courtney Folts.

You are invited to celebrate Don’s life with the family Wednesday, February 4th at 2:00 p.m at the United Methodist Church in Benedict. Memorials in lieu of flowers to the donor’s choice. Don wish was to be cremated.
