Harlan Linder
Harlan D. Linder died October 2, 2006 at Longmont United Hospital. He was 77.
Harlan was born on January 8, 1929 in Sutton, Nebraska to Charles Linder and Elsie Marie Baass Linder.
Harlan grew up in Nebraska graduating from York High School in 1947. He was active in the Future Farmers of America. While growing up he helped on the family farm with his father and brothers.
On August 30, 1947, he married Rose Mary Schall in York, Nebraska. The family moved to Longmont in 1954.
Mr. Linder went to work at Rocky Flats, where he took the position of experimental operator and later was process operator and radiological control technician. He spent 29 years at the Rocky Flats plant, retiring in 1992.
He was a member of Hygiene United Methodist Church, where he currently was serving as Trustee. He was in several bowling leagues locally and traveled to numerous national tournaments through the years. His wife and he enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents, a sister Virginia Summerford, two brothers Ralph Linder and Ardell Linder and a grandson Shane Turner.
Surviving are his wife of Longmont, two daughters Nancy Shockey and her husband Richard and Deanette Entihar of Longmont, a son Bob Linder of Denver, a sister Charlotte Quest of Omaha, Nebraska, two brothers Eldon Lind and his wife Doris Ann of Plymouth, MN and Merlyen Linder and his wife Pauline of Greatna, NB, eight grandchildren Amy Heussmann of Thornton, Charlie Shockey and his wife Kim of York, NB, Kim Bunn of Thornton, Janell Bartzatt and her husband Chris of Omaha, NB, Jerry Entihar and his wife Jennifer of Longmont, Patience Pope and her husband David of Berthoud, Tanya Linder and her fiancé Jason of Thornton, Tiffany Johnson and her husband Chris of Arvada and 14 Great Grandchildren.
Services were held Thursday October 5, 2006 at the Howe Mortuary Chapel, with Reverend Barbara Johns-Schleicher of the Hygiene United Methodist Church.
Additional services were held in York, NE on Monday, October 9, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Art Phillips officiating. Burial was at the Greenwood Cemetery at York.
