Ivan E. Lansden

Ivan E. Lansden, age 62 of York, died Saturday, February 7, 2004 at York. Ivan was a longtime York auto mechanic having worked at Nelson Motors, Geis Motors, Stuart Motors and John Kohl Auto for over 40 years, retiring in November of 2003. He was born October 28, 1941 in Sterling, CO to Claude E. and Willette (Stoll) Lansden. Ivan grew up at Fairmont, NE and graduated from Fairmont High School. He was married to Janet L. Chambers on August 12, 1962 at York. Ivan belonged to the First Presbyterian Church at York.

He is survived by his wife Janet of York, 2 sisters, Sharon (Harold) Hiett of York and Janice Thompson of Benedict; 3 nephews, 5 nieces and his mother-in-law Evelyn Chambers of York. Preceding him in death were his parents, his father-in-law Aurice “Snaz” Chambers and his brother-in-law James Thompson.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 am at the First Presbyterian Church at York with Rev. Cathy Allen officiating. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery at York. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society. Visitation will begin at 5 pm Sunday.
