Marian Kreifels

Marian Kreifels age 82 of York, died Thursday, November 10, 2005 at York. She was born May 12, 1923 in rural York, NE. to Charles and Edna (Kaltenborn) Propst. She was a York High School graduate and on November 19, 1943 she was united in marriage to Gerald Kreifels in Seward, NE. Marian was a great cook and enjoyed making fried bread and cinnamon rolls for her family. She was devoted to her grandchildren and attended all of their activities. She also loved animals, especially dogs and cats. Marian is survived by her son David and his wife Linda Kreifels of Bradshaw; daughters, Gerry and her husband Steve Welch of York and Donna and her husband Melvin Kauk of Lincoln; grandchildren, Darrin (Katie) Welch of Seward, Melissa (William) Dodd of Denver, CO., Anthony (Michelle) Kreifels of York, Adam (Haili) Kreifels of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Aric (Renee) Kreifels of York; step-grandchildren, Matthew Kauk of Kearney and Michael (Heather) Kauk of Olatha, KS.; six great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother Max (Joan) Propst of Seward and two sisters-in-law, Maxine Zeliff of Bradshaw and Jean Kreifels of York; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law. Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, November, 14, 2005 at the Metz Chapel in York with Bruce Goodwin officiating. It was Marion’s wish to be cremated so there will be no viewing or visitation. Inurnment will be in York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Adopt-A-Pet in York.
