Larry Kramer

Larry D. Kramer,age 68 of Gresham, NE, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, October 29, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 7, 1941 in York, NE to Louis and Susie (Collingham) Kramer. Larry worked at the York Bottling Co., and then went to work at Sunflower Beef Packers in 1969 where he was a foreman on the kill floor until March of 1983. He then went to Oklahoma and hauled mud out of oil wells with his father-in-law. In 1986 he went to work for Cook’s Ham Inc. of Lincoln where he was a supervisor on the portion line until March of 2009. He loved to volunteer at Blue Valley Community Action in York from 1990 until 2008. While at Blue Valley, and he was cab president several times and the handy man. Larry was a member of AA and had been sober for 32 years. He liked going fishing and loved football. He especially enjoyed his children and grandchildren. He was united in marriage to Sandra Lee on May 25, 1970 at York. The union was blessed with four children.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Sandy of Gresham; sons, Jeff and Jodi Kramer of Gresham, Chad and Chrissy Kramer of Manhattan, KS; daughters, Missy and Dave Rixstine of North Platte, NE and Tracey and Tony Sotelo of Chandler, AZ. Grandchildren include: Jessica and Jordan Kramer of Gresham, Justin and Matthew Rixstine of North Platte, K.C. and Carlos Retana of Chandler, AZ, Julie and Jenna Kramer of Manhattan, KS; brothers Bob and Dorisla Kramer of York, Fred and Pat Kramer of York, Debert & Bev Kramer of Bradshaw, NE, Jim Kramer of Hastings, Ron and Deb Kramer of Seward, Jack Kramer of Milford, Dick Kramer of Milford, NE, Dennis and Colleen Kramer of Milford, Kenny and Judy Kramer of Lincoln; one sister Linda Sedam of Lincoln; sisters-in-law Judy and Mark Jackson of Deer Park, TX, Tammy and Tom Talley of Wellston OK, Debra and Robert Delaney of Glendale, AZ. Also surviving are two uncles, Sarge Collingham of Aurora, NE, Homer Collingham of Lincoln; one aunt Barbara Berry of Polo, MO; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Dale, sister Sharon and an infant sister Karen Kay.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at the New Life Church of the Nazarene in York with the Reverend Stephen Sheets officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Larry has chosen to be cremated following the funeral and private family inurnment services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
