Robert Knipfel

Robert “Bob” J. Knipfel, age 85 of York, NE passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2011 in York. He was born April 19, 1926 in York to John and Clara (Gaukel) Knipfel. Bob was united in marriage to June Stahr on June 13, 1948 in York. Bob was a lifelong resident of York County. He and June made their home and farmed near York, until he retired at age 63. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York, enjoyed woodworking, and most of all, spending time with his family.

Bob is survived by his wife June of York; son Don (Terese) Knipfel of Bella Vista, Arkansas; four daughters: JoAnn (Stan) Williams of Bradshaw, NE, Jean (Les) Siebert of York, Susan (Paul) Hurd of Bellevue, Washington, and Nancy (Roger) Goodban of Kearney, NE; 11 grandchildren: Amanda (Brian) Ervin of Rogers, Arkansas, Adam Knipfel of Omaha, NE, Andrea Knipfel of Omaha, Chris Williams of Bradshaw, Kim Williams of Bradshaw, Craig (Krystal) Siebert of Halstead, Kansas, Heather (JJ) Hall of Elm Creek, NE, Alex Siebert of York, Jamie Giesler of Seattle, Washington, Jenny Goodban of Kearney, NE, and Kristy (Kevin) Kusek, also of Kearney; 12 great grandchildren; brother Carl Knipfel of Bella Vista, Arkansas; three sisters: Vera McLain and Ruth Harrison of York, and Irene Utecht of Glenville, NE; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, sister in law Carolyn Knipfel and three brothers in law: Lloyd McLain, Denzel Harrison, and Duane Utecht.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, York. Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery, York. Memorials may be directed to the Lutheran Hour, to the family for later designation, or donor’s choice.
