Frank Kirkpatrick
Frank C. Kirkpatrick, age 88 of York,NE died Monday, August 6, 2007 at his home. He was born June 14, 1917 to Clinton F. and Nellie M. (Clark) Kirkpatrick at York. He was a 1937 graduate of York High School. Frank farmed north of Bradshaw until he retired in 1980. On May 21, 1956 he was united in marriage to Mary Kathryn Geiger at Utica, NE.
Frank was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in York and was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus. He was a member of the Livestock Feeders & Breeders organization, receiving the Outstanding Service Award in 1982, received the Nebraska Pioneer Award, was on the York County Fair Board, and was on the Bradshaw School Board for 18 years. He was a member of the Elks (BPOE) Club and enjoyed being a part of the Fun Club. Frank enjoyed woodworking, including his contribution to the renovations made on the alters at church, fishing trips and hunting. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Mary Kathryn of York; sons: Roger Kirkpatrick of Grand Island, NE and Clark (Linda) Kirkpatrick of Lincoln, NE; daughters: Ann (James) Wurst of Burwell, NE and Teresa (Dan) Basich of Doyline, LA; grandchildren: Jamie (Mark) Walters of Grand Island; Kenny (fiancée’ Melissa) Kirkpatrick of Omaha; NE, Whitney Kirkpatrick of Alda, NE; Colton Kirkpatrick of Lincoln; Colby and Heath Wurst of Burwell; Jerry Kirkpatrick of Shreveport, LA; Shirley (Chase) Naron of Benton, LA; Tara Doell of Crete, NE; Chris (Erin) Doell of Fort Sill, OK; and Miranda (Manual Rodriguez of York; great-grandchildren: Remmington Naron of Benton, LA; Jeremiah, Tessi, and Trey Doell of Crete; Abraham Doell of Fort Still, and Sebastian Rodriguez of York. Also surviving is brother: Dan (Dorothy) Kirkpatrick of York, NE; sister: Joan Breen of Arlington, VA; sister-in-law: Artie Kirkpatrick of Cody, WY; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, in-laws, brother Tom Kirkpatrick, grandson Jeremiah Wurst, and brother in law John Breen.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held August 10, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in York. Burial was at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
