James J. Kirby

James J. Kirby, age 77 of York, died Sunday, August 01, 2004 at York. He was born September 18, 1926 at Gresham, NE to James E. and Lucy (Girard) Kirby. James was a graduate of Gresham High School and married Irene A. Liska on July 7, 1948 at Ulysses, NE. He was a longtime electrical supply salesman. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of York.

James is survived by his wife Irene of York; 4 sons, James M. (Georgina) of Sterling, CO, John J. (Jane) of No. Platte, NE, Jeff L. (Jerri) Lincoln and Joel K. (Ann) of Lincoln; 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Dolly (Ford) Bond of York, Olive Siffring of Lincoln and Wilma (Lindley) Kessler of Gresham; several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents and 3 sisters, Irene, Gladys and Mildred.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in York with rosary services on Tuesday at Metz at 7:00 pm. Burial will be in the Cedar Lawn Cemetery at Gresham.
