Violet Kaeding
Mabel “Violet” Kaeding, age 90 of York, NE died, Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at York. She was born on December 20, 1920 to Gottlieb and Bertha (Schmidt) Ackermann in Hamilton County, NE. She was confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Hampton in May of 1934 and graduated from Hampton High School in 1938. She received her nurses training at Trinity Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Kansas City, MO, graduating from there in May of 1942. Violet was united in marriage to Lornz “Larry” Kaeding on September 11, 1949 in Hampton. She worked as a Registered Nurse for at the Bell Clinic, York General Hospital and served the York Public School as school nurse for 25 years. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York and had served as Past President for the American Legion Auxiliary Bolton #19.
Violet is survived by her brother Gilbert Ackermann of Irving, TX, and his sons, Douglas of Arlington and David of Corinth, TX. She is also survived by brother-in-law Wayne Kaeding of Beatrice, NE and sister-in-law Evelyn Kaeding of York. Numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family are also surviving. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Larry in 1996, and sister-in-law Marjorie Ackerman.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 16, 2011 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York. Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery, York. Memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.
