Albert Junge

Albert Junge age 85 of Benedict, NE died Thursday, July 19, 2007 at Grand Island, NE. He was born Albert Otto Walters on August 19, 1921 in Upland, NE to Frank & Lillie (Einsphar) Walters. On March 27, 1929 he was adopted by Albert H. & Alma (Heinike) Junge and his name was changed to Albert Walter Junge. He was confirmed May 19, 1935 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and was a 1939 graduate of Benedict High School. He was united in marriage to Laura Ida Heiden on September 14, 1941. He served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1943-1946, as a projectionist. Albert farmed in the Benedict area for many years. He had other jobs as well, including: driving a semi-truck, working as a Pinkerton Guard and projectionist at the York Drive In Theatre.

He is survived by six children, Deana Neubeck of Naperville, IL, Ronald Junge and his wife Janice of Spokane Valley, WA, Margo Chase of York, Pamela and her husband Larry Reimers of York, Albert C. Junge and his wife Jamie of Benedict, Teresa Reed of York; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews including Dora Jane and her husband Gerald Lutz of Fairmont, NE. Preceding him in death are his parents, adoptive parents, wife, and two grandchildren Matthew Reed and Jeremy Junge.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at the Faith Lutheran Church in York with the Reverend Arthur Schauer officiating. Inurnment was at St. Paul’s Cemetery near Benedict. Memorials may be directed to the family.
