Raymond E. Jenkins

Raymond E. Jenkins, 86 of York, died Monday, July 14th, 2003 in York. He was born September 20th, 1916 in York County to C. Earl and Alice (McClatchey) Jenkins. He graduated from York High School and served in the US Army during WWII. Ray married Elizabeth Mohler on February 2nd, 1944 in York. He worked a number of years with his father selling real estate and insurance at C. Earl Jenkins and Son in York. Ray was a member of East Avenue United Methodist Church in York and the V.F.W.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth “Beth” Jenkins; three sons, Larry (Nancy) Jenkins of Ridgecrest, CA, Keith (Jan) Jenkins of Lincoln and Bryce (Deb) Jenkins of Geneva; one daughter, Marilyn (Ed) Nelson of Lincoln; grandchildren, Jennifer, Neely and Ryan Jenkins, Jeena, Amanda and Kaylee Nelson, and Lexis Jenkins; step-grandchildren, Julia and Krista Kapperman; brother, Eldon (Marilyn) Jenkins of Bakersfield, CA; his aunt, Alice Watson of York. Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Craig; sisters, Doris Davies and Carol Schmoker.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 18th at the East Ave. United Methodist Church in York. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, York. Memorials in care of the family.
