Walter Janzen
Walter Janzen age 80 of Henderson, NE died Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at Henderson.
He was born February 18, 1927 in rural Henderson to Jacob D. and Helena (Peters) Janzen and was a lifelong farmer in the Henderson area. He enjoyed visiting with his many friends and being with his family and was also a longtime member of the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson.
On October 9, 1947 he was married to Elva Siebert at Henderson.
He is survived by his wife Elva Janzen of Henderson, one son Royce and his wife Carol Janzen also of Henderson and a daughter Rebecca and her husband David Dolezal of Lincoln.
One daughter in law Pam Janzen of Henderson.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren Jay Dee and his wife Wendy Janzen of Henderson, Bradley and his wife Kara Janzen Newton, KS, Scott and his wife Christa Janzen of Tucson, AZ, Kevin Janzen of Henderson, Kyle Janzen of Omaha, Carissa and her husband Brad Nietfeldt and Carlee Janzen all of Omaha. Two Great Grandchildren Benjamin Janzen of Henderson and Prestyn Nietfeldt of Omaha.
One brother Henry and his wife Jean Janzen of Henderson, four sisters Anna Goertzen, Olga Friesen and Clara Ratzlaff all of Henderson and Doris Graber of Pretty Prairie, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Gary, one brother and three sisters.
Funeral serviceswere held Friday, September 14, 2007 at the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson with the Reverend Weldon Martens officiating. Burial followed in the Friesen Cemetery west of Henderson. Memorials may be directed to the Mennonite Central Committee.
