Pansy Janzen
Pansy Nettie (Regier) Janzen was born on February 16, 1913 to John A. and Nettie Regier on the family farm in York County, NE. She passed away in Henderson, NE on May 4, 2010, reaching the age of 97 years.
Mother grew up on the family farm north of Henderson and attended country school #60 through eighth grade. She graduated from Henderson High School in 1931. She was baptized upon the confession of her faith on May 21, 1934, by the Rev John F Epp and remained a faithful member of Bethesda Mennonite church. She expressed her care for others by working for different families during and after High School as a hired girl, and as a nurse aid at the York hospital.
Mother married Frank Janzen on November 17, 1936, a marriage that lasted 58 years. They were blessed with four children – Nadine, John, Mary, and Kenneth. After her marriage to Frank, she stayed at home and raised her family. When her health permitted, she again expressed her love for others by actively teaching Sunday school and serving in her Mission Circle at church. She was a prayer warrior and a spiritual encourager to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as friends. Her hobbies included quilting, embroidery, crocheting, and sewing and would spend this time praying for others. She also enjoyed the research of our family’s genealogy. She entered the Henderson Care Center on June 15, 2001 and lived there until her death.
