Ervin Jackson

Ervin D. Jackson, age 72 of York, NE, died Monday, October 27, 2008 at York. He was born on February 19, 1936 at DeWeese, NE to George and Sophie (Dalluge) Jackson. He was a graduate of Clay Center, NE High School and worked for Big ‘G’ Truck and Tire in Hastings as well as Interclean in Grand Island. He enjoyed sports, taking short trips and watching rodeos. He was also an avid hunter, bowler and fisherman.

He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Chavira of York and Kathy Jackson of Grand Island; three grandchildren, Suzanna Jackson, Erick Dean Jackson and Adian Chavira of York; and one great-grandson Owen Jackson of York. Also surviving is a brother, Bernard (Diane) Jackson of Clay Center, NE and a sister Emily Pimm from New Jersey. He was preceded in death by parents, one son, three brothers and two sisters.

Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 3, 2008 at the Metz Chapel in York. It was Ervin’s wish to be cremated so there was no viewing or visitation. Inurnment will be at Fairfield, NE at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family.
