Richard Huegel

Richard E “Dick” Huegel, age 70 of York, NE, died Thursday, May 28, 2009 at York. He was born June 7, 1938 at Hutchison, KS to Eugene and Francis (Ritchey) Huegel. Dick was a 1956 graduate of York High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956-1960 and on September 30, 1978, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth “Bette” Baxter. Dick was an antique watch dealer, a job he thoroughly enjoyed. He served on the house committee of the York Elks, was on the YCC Board of Directors, enjoyed golf, gardening and gaming.

Survivors include his wife Bette of York; son Charles Huegel of Locust, NC; daughter Brenda (Ron) Vogel of Long Beach, CA; mother Frances Huegel of York; granddaughter Hailey Vogel of Long Beach; nephew Jay Murray of Holt, MI; niece Sue (Allen) Schutte of Omaha, NE and great-nieces, Kaylee and Jaycee Schutte of Omaha. Preceding him in death are his father and sister Norma Murray.

Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 4, 2009 at the Metz Chapel in York. Private family inurnment. It was Dick’s wish to be cremated so there was no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.
