Pete Huebert
Reinold Pete Huebert age 89 of York, NE died Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at York. He was born May 31, 1918 on a farm near Henderson, NE to Peter and Marie (Pankratz) Huebert. He graduated from Henderson High School in 1936 and then attended York College for two years. On October 24, 1948 he married Louise Fehr, daughter of Henry and Wilhelmina (Ehly) Fehr, at Sutton, NE. To this union were born two children, Diane Marie and Stanley James. Pete worked for Sidles Co. Car Parts in Grand Island and then in York. Later he was the Parts Manager for the Buick-Pontiac Garage for 30 years. After his retirement he volunteered at the Salvation Army for over ten years. He was a member of the East Avenue United Methodist Church in York until it’s closing. While a member he belonged to the Win Two Sunday School Class and sang in the choir for many years. Pete enjoyed his family, playing the harmonica and the ukulele. He also enjoyed playing golf, and watching football and other sports on television.
He leaves to mourn his wife Louise of York; daughter Diane (Rick) Giese of Amarillo, TX; son Stan (Brenda) Huebert of Omaha, NE; four grandchildren, Jon (Brittiany) Giese and Brian Giese all of Amarillo, Marcie (Jeff) Holdren of Lincoln, NE, Misty (Michael) Fralin of Omaha; great-grandchildren, Brielle and Bladen Giese of Amarillo and Joshua Fralin of Omaha. Also surviving are two sisters, Gladys Friesen and Freda Epp both of Henderson and a sister-in-law Dorothy Van Dyck of Denton, TX. Preceding him in death were his parents, step-father, three step-brothers and one step-sister.
Funeral services were Friday, June 29, 2007 at the Metz Chapel in York with the Reverend Art Phillips officiating. Burial was at the Sutton Cemetery, Sutton, NE.
