Clyde Huber
Clyde A. Huber, age 78 of York, died Monday, March 13, 2006 at Fairmont. He was born July 28, 1927 at York to Alex and Laura (McGee) Huber. Clyde was married to Dorothy Maxine Wright at York on November 16, 1947. He worked for Roberts Floral and then 20 years at the greenhouse for May Flowers and then for 27 years at Champion Home Builders in York. Clyde was a longtime member of the York National Guard serving from September of 1947 until July of 1987, including an active duty call-up in the early 60’s. He was a member of the American Legion and the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Clyde is survived by his wife Maxine of York; 3 daughters, Linda Knoell of Fairmont, Monica Cross and her husband Lanny of York, Lori Miller and her husband Harry also of York; 6 grandchildren, Cheri Emick, Travis Knoell, Gina Brahmsteadt, Corey Cross, Andy Moser, and Tim Moser; 6 great-grandchildren, Stasia Emick, Dylan Knoell, Lili Cross, Sophie Cross, Jaden Brahmsteadt, and Baby Brahmsteadt; sister Claudine (Dr. Leo) Herber of Phoenix, AZ; his brother Dexter Huber of York and nieces & nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, brother Ramon Huber; half brother Vincent Brown; 2 half sisters Fanetta Babcock and Thelma Mohr; and his son-in-law Roger Knoell.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 am at the Metz Chapel in York with the Rev. Art Phillips officiating. Burial with military graveside services will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery at York. Memorials may be directed to the family. Visitation will begin 5 pm Wednesday.
