Thurman Hoskins

Thurman L. Hoskins, age 79 of Lincoln, NE, died Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at Lincoln. His life began when he was born to Beatrice Hoskins on November 17, 1925 in Waldron, MO. She preceded him death as a young woman. As a young boy Thurman began to live with loving relatives such as his Uncle Roy Hoskins and his Aunt Eleanor. It was through their loving eyes that Thurman’s love for Nebraska began to foster. Thurman was preceded in death by his wife Alice P. Hoskins in 1995 after being married for 50 years. Thurman retired from the Air Force in 1966 after serving for 20 years. Thurman worked many jobs in York after retiring and wrote four books which were published by Holloway House Publishing Co. He also enjoyed his time working with young students and teaching them what it takes to become an author. He is survived by his three sons, Thurman Hoskins Jr., Norman L. Hoskins and David C. and his wife Jill Hoskins all of Lincoln, NE. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Abbey Hoskins, Autumn Hoskins & A.J. Hoskins of Lincoln, Monika Weber Hoskins of Lincoln, Mindy Hoskins & Heather Hoskins both of York and Rachel Hoskins of Portland, OR He is also survived by many loving relatives, Donna McKinley, Beverly Napier of Champagne, IL., Gaylon Hoskins of Kansas City, MO.; daughter-in-law, Jill Hoskins.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 10, 2005 at the Metz Chapel in York with the Reverend Jeff Wulf officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in York. Memorials may be directed to the family. Visitation begins after 5:00 p.m., on Thursday at the mortuary.
