Hunter Hogan
Lance Corporal Hunter “H.D.” Hogan, age 21, while serving with 1st BN, 8th Marines, 2nd Marine division, was killed in action in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, on Saturday, June 23, 2012. He was born on September 17, 1990 at Seymour, IN to Steve and Tracy (Rogers) Hogan. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour. On December 29, 2010, H.D. and Brittney Pelsue were united in marriage in San Diego, CA. H.D. enjoyed participating in rodeos, especially bareback riding and bull riding. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Wild Turkey Federation.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Brittney of New Bern, NC; father Steve Hogan and his fiancée Shelley Thompson of Aurora, NE; mother Tracy Rogers Hogan of Indiana; aunt Stacy and her husband Dan Clark of York, NE; uncle Scott Hogan and wife Melissa of Norman, IN; grandparents Jim and Betty Hogan of Kinston, NC; numerous cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, July 6, 2012 at St. Joseph’s
Catholic Church in York, NE. Military interment was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, York.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the H.D. Hogan Memorial Rodeo Scholarship Fund in care of Cornerstone Bank.
