Ruth Hoffschneider

Ruth A. Hoffschneider, age 92 of York, NE died December 9, 2005 at Stromsburg, NE. She was born to William H. and Lura E. (Collins) Gifford on January 23, 1913 at Curtis, NE. Ruth was a 1931 graduate of York High School and was united in marriage to Herman H. Hoffschneider on June 11, 1933 at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Waco, NE. Ruth was a lifelong homemaker and she enjoyed traveling, gardening and spent many hours working on genealogy. Most of all she loved doing things with her family, especially her wonderful grandchildren. She really enjoyed going to their school programs, concerts, ballgames, and scouting activities. Ruth is survived by two daughters, Dorothy (John) Ryan of Phillips, NE and Nancy (Tom) Monnier of Bradshaw, NE; one son, Herman Hoffschneider of Cleveland, TX; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, one daughter-in-law, one granddaughter, one great-grandson, five brothers and three sisters.
