IRMA HOFFCHNEIDER

Irma Emma Hoffschneider, age 97 of York, died Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at York. She was born near Waco, NE on May 30, 1908 to Paul and Louise (Pieper) Bulgrin. She was baptized on June 21, 1908 at St. Johns Lutheran Church south of Waco and confirmed on April 9, 1922 at St. Johns. Irma graduated from Utica High School in 1927 and from nurses training at York Lutheran Hospital in 1930. On October 1, 1933, she married Erich Hoffschneider at St. Johns. Irma worked as an RN at York Lutheran Hospital and volunteered for the Red Cross Bloodmobile for many years. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in York and the LWML and she had been a longtime Sunday school teacher. She is survived by her son Burton and his wife Joan Hoffschneider of Waco; her daughter Marlyce and her husband Gerald Seaman of Lake Mary, FL; 8 grandchildren, Allan Hoffschneider, Scott (Jennifer) Hoffschneider, Lori (Wayne) Bruns, Todd (Sherry) Hoffschneider, Kevin (Jill) Hoffschneider, Stephanie (Peter) Krzyzak, Sheri (Kevin) Robb and Shawn Seaman; 17 great-grandchildren; her sister Sylvia Whitmore of York and sister-in-law Esther Bulgrin of Waco. Preceding her in death were her husband Erich, parents, brother Edgar and sister Stella.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church in York with the Rev. Arthur Schauer officiating. Burial was at the Greenwood Cemetery at York. Memorials may be directed to the Church, Alzheimer’s Assn. or family choice.
