Peyton Hoffman

Peyton Jerry Hoffman, age 11 of York, NE died Friday, March 19, 2010 at York. He was born May 20, 1998 to Chad S. and Julie A. (Matzner) Hoffman at Aurora, NE. Peyton was a student at York Middle School who was adored by his 6th grade class and all of his friends. He was also a member of the Cub Scouts.

Peyton loved to be outdoors, whether it was spending weekends at the lake fishing and boating, or sitting on the front porch keeping watch and greeting people. He was a Nebraska Cornhusker fan and loved the Chicago Cubs. He loved playing games and being with his family. He was his dad’s right hand man. Wherever Chad went, Peyton went to. Peyton leaves behind the memory of his infectious smile.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents Chad and Julie Hoffman of York; brother Parker Hoffman of York; sister Paige Dewey of Lincoln, NE; and his dog Wrigley. Surviving grandparents are Robert and Vernalene Hoffman of Bradshaw, NE and Donald (Peggy) Matzner of York; great grandmothers Arlene Eklund of Bradshaw and Irene Hoffman of York; aunts and uncles include: Brandee (Tom) Ehlers of York, Erik (Rita) Hoffman of New Orleans, LA, Jim (Kathy) Matzner of McCool Jct., NE, Janet Matzner of Gresham, NE and Jean Matzner of York; and many cousins. Preceding him in death was his uncle Jerry Matzner and aunt JoAnne Matzner.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in York with the Reverends Art Phillips and Pat Norris officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, York. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation of the Peyton Hoffman Memorial Scholarship Fund.
