Helen Hoffman

Helen M. Hoffman, age 82 of Bradshaw, NE died Sunday, July 30, 2006 at York. She was born February 14, 1924 at rural Central City, NE to Walter and Frankie (Good) Garrett. Helen was united in marriage to Leonard Hoffman in Central City on July 5, 1944 and they farmed in the Bradshaw/Benedict area until retirement. Helen was confirmed into the EUB Church of rural Archer, NE, which was the center of her life growing up. She was one of the early leaders of the W.I.F.E. organization, a Cub Scout den mother and a member of the Triple T Friendship Club. Her many interests included golf, fishing, travel, the outdoors and playing Keno.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband Leonard of Bradshaw; son Dan and his wife Shirlene Hoffman of Bradshaw; daughter Candice Christen of rural Pawnee City, NE; grandchildren include Brenda (Kevin) Linder and their children Drew, Jillian, Jenna all of Lincoln, Jeffrey Hoffman of Omaha, Jenni (Timothy) Ackerman and their children Noah, Izabelle and Olivia all of Olathe, KS, and Jodi Hall of Crofton, MD. Also surviving are brothers, W. Mark and his wife Marjorie Garrett of Great Bend, KS and David and his wife Jill Garrett of Central City; sisters, Virginia Stalker of Grand Island, Muriel Schroyer of Laramie, WY and Mary and her husband Hubert Fritz of Clarks, NE. Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers, Warren and Wesley.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at the Metz Chapel in York with the Reverend Daniel Spearow officiating. Interment will be in the York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
