LORNA HOFFER
Lorna M. Hoffer, age 87 of Salina KS, formerly of York, died Sunday, April 3, 2005 at Salina. She was born on November 2, 1917 at Waco, NE to Martin & Henrietta (Naber) Stahr. She was married to John L. Hoffer on November 23, 1950 at Waco. Lorna was a longtime waitress at the Chances R restaurant in York and a member of Faith Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her daughter Pamela (Steven) Gronewaller of Salina; grandchildren, David J. Rinehart of York, Judy (Daryl) Grennan of Byron Il., Sheri (Shannon) Jordan of York, Katherine (Derek) Gassmann of Oklahoma City, OK; step-granddaughter, Brandy (Shaun) Grey of Topeka, KS; 6 great-grandchildren, Austin, Bailey, McCauley, Winton, Caleb & Hunter and 1 step-great-grandchild Ryan. Also surviving is her brother, Helmuth (Carolyn) Stahr of Grand Island, NE.; brother-in-law, Julius (Rogene) Hoffer of Lincoln and 2 sisters-in-law, Mae Hoffer and Fern Hoffer both of Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Norman, grandson Timothy and great-grandson Brendon.
Funeral services were Thursday, April 7, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in York with the Rev. Arthur Schauer. Burial was at the Greenwood Cemetery, York.
