Floyd Heiser

Floyd Heiser, age 92, retired Hamilton County farmer, passed away at the Henderson Care Center, Henderson, NE on August 22, 2011. Floyd was born on September 30, 1918 at Eldorado, NE to Adam and Margaret (Heiser) Heiser. On July 27, 1941, Floyd married Alma Friesen in Henderson, NE, a union which lasted for more than 61 years when Alma passed away in September 2002. After working as a mechanic in Sutton, NE for several months, they moved to their first farm northwest of Stockham, NE. In January of 1945 they moved to a farm five miles west of Henderson where spent the next 38 years farming. In January of 1983 they moved from the farm to their retirement home in Henderson.

Floyd was a tireless worker and enjoyed farming and helping others. He served on the board of the Henderson Hospital for 13 years and was actively involved in church activities in the Henderson community. His passions were God, family, and others. Fixing things brought great joy-cars, tractors, lawnmowers or most anything. In his retirement he was still farming as he helped Marlin and Arlene for almost 20 years. Gardening also became a way to farm, sharing the fruits of his labors with friends and neighbors. Floyd was a “people” person and thoroughly enjoyed connecting with those he met. His time at the Care Center was a great joy, visiting with the staff, residents and visitors.

Floyd is survived by four children, son, Dr. Raymond Heiser and wife Lanora of Bartlesville, OK; granddaughters, Dr. Charlotte Fore and Christine (John) Norvell; daughter, Ruth Ludwig and husband Fred of Aurora, CO, grandsons Fred (Monja) Ludwig, Steve (Stacy) Ludwig, Andrew Ludwig and granddaughter Sara (John) Donatelli; son, Allen Heiser and wife Dalice of West Valley City, UT, grandson Jeremy (Sonja) Heiser, granddaughter Allison (Justin) Bremer; daughter Arlene Rempel and husband Marlin of McCool Junction, NE, granddaughters Leah Rempel, Rebekah (Scott) Onnen, Anna Rempel, and grandson Jonathan (Abbie) Rempel. Also surviving are 19 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Clarence and Everett. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; wife Alma; and grandson-in-law Kirk Fore.

Funeral services were held at the Community Bible Church, Lushton, NE at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 27, 2011. Burial was at the FEBC Cemetery, Henderson. Memorials may be directed to the Living Water Rescue Mission or the People’s City Mission.
