Erma Jean Heine

Erma Jean Heine, age 63, of York, died Monday, October 06, 2008 at York. She was born on April 18, 1945 at Sargent, NE to James and Evelyn (Kamarad) Proskocil. Erma Jean began working at York General Health Care Services on December 26, 1995 and was the Assistant Director of the Medical Records Department for three years. In December of 1998 she was appointed the Director of the Health Information Management Department. In March, 2002, Erma Jean was selected as the Employee of the Month at York General Hospital. Later that same year, in December, she was selected as the Employee of the Year for York General Hospital. She was loved and respected by all of her work family. Erma Jean was very active in her professional association, The Nebraska Health Information Management Association and was recognized for 30 years of membership in 2006. In addition, she was recently recognized as Nebraska’s Outstanding NHIMA Member of the Year. Truly she will be missed by more than York General Health Care Services.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jacob Kulhanek and his wife Sarah of Seward, NE; Kevin Burson of Edison, NJ; daughter, Kimberly Sullivan of Lincoln, NE; four grandchildren, Hunter Sullivan and Kate Sullivan of Lincoln and Morgan Kulhanek and Nathan Kulhanek of Seward. Erma Jean is also survived by her mother, Evelyn Proskocil of Ord, NE; brothers, James Proskocil and his wife Pat of Plattsburg, MO and Don Proskocil and his wife Deb of Ord; nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, October 9, 2008 at the Zion Lutheran Church, Thayer, NE with the Reverend Lee Seetin officiating. Burial was at 4:00 p.m. at the Ord Cemetery, Ord, NE. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation for breast cancer research.
