Lula Heiden

Lula Heiden age 96 of Waco, NE died, Saturday July 29, 2006 at York. She was born April 20, 1910 in rural Waco, NE to William E. and Ella M. (Johnson) Grass. Lula was employed at Woolworths in York for several years before becoming a cook at the Waco Public School. She then went on to work for the Waco Post Office before her retirement. Lula attended the First United Methodist Church in Waco and enjoyed quilting, gardening and raising flowers. On December 26, 1934 she was married to Lorenz Heiden at Polk, NE.

She is survived by two sons, Rex and his wife Nancy Heiden of Waco and Duane and his wife Gayle Heiden of Waverly; one daughter Patricia and her husband Dale Brackhan of Waco; seven grandchildren, Troy and his wife Kathleen Heiden of Ruston, Louisiana, Stacy and her husband Jamal Mashlab of Shrewsburry, United Kingdom, Sarah and her husband Shannon Johnson of Waco, Kiley Heiden of Lincoln, Sharilyn and her husband Don Ramsey of Waco, Shelley and her husband Stan Fritz of Omaha and Steven Brackhan of Beaver Crossing; 13 great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister Iva Jones of Mountain Home Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, one brother, three sisters and a granddaughter.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at the Metz Chapel in York with the Reverend Jeff Wulf officiating. Burial was in the Waco Cemetery. T Memorials may be directed to the family.
