Lois Heers

Lois F. Heers, age 90, of York, died Thursday, November 10, 2011 at York. She was born December 30, 1920 in rural York County to Andrew and Elizabeth (Abbott) Eberle. Lois was united in marriage to Roger K. Heers on December 15, 1957 at Hastings. She worked at the York State Bank in the bookkeeping/accounting department for many years. Lois loved dogs and had great admiration for the work of the York Adopt-A-Pet.

Survivors include three nieces, Judie (Steve) Hejtmanek of Topeka, KS, Donna (Mike) DeKalb of Lincoln, and Mary B. (Jim) Close of Forest City, MO. Also surviving are four great nephews, one great niece, and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, and one nephew.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 14, 2011 at the Metz Chapel in York. Interment followed in York’s Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Adopt-A-Pet.
