Virgil Hazen

Virgil Dwaine Hazen, age 53 of York, NE, died Monday, April 28, 2008 at York. He was born October 3, 1954 at Garden City, KS to Billy and Wanda (Suttle) Hazen. He was a lineman for Mid Plains Power in Grand Island, NE. Virgil was united in marriage to Cathy Allen on July 10, 1982 at Goodland, KS. He enjoyed woodworking, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and his three Rottweilers.

Left to cherish Virgil’s memory is his wife Cathy of York; three daughters, Misty (Dan) Filbert of S.E. Rochester, MN, Crystal Hazen of York and Lanae Hazen also of York; two grandchildren, Riley and Jonathan Filbert of Rochester. Also surviving is his brother, Dean Hazen from Alabama and two sisters, Diana (Cliff) Maggard of Nampa ID and Jae (Mike) Lohrmeyer of Logan, KS, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents.

Memorials services were held on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at the Metz Chapel in York with the Reverend Bill Holt officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Holly, CO. Memorials may be directed to the family.
