Hubert Hatfiled

Hubert E. Hatfield, age 88 of York, died Monday, February 6, 2006 at York. He was born March 1, 1917 in York to Albert H. and Caroline (Davis) Hatfield. He was baptized into the Methodist Church. Hubert was a graduate of York High School and then served in the United States Army during World War II. He was employed as a medical file clerk in the states of Washington and California and resided in Bullhead City, Arizona for over 30 years until moving back to York in 1991. Hubert was a history enthusiast and avid fisherman. He also enjoyed music, dancing, and Nebraska football.

He is survived by seven nieces and nephews: Margaret Samson of York, Jim (Eleanor) Hatfield of Stromsburg, Robert (Dorothy) Hatfield of San Jose, CA, Marie (Richard) Russell of Bullhead City, AZ, Barbara Grier of Bullhead City, AZ, Les Rhoades of Vermont, and William (Shirley) Kahler of Fairmont. Also surviving are many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, four sisters, and one nephew.

Military graveside services were held, Saturday, February 11, 2006 at Greenwood Cemetery with The Reverend Jeff Wulf officiating. Memorials may be directed to the Veteran’s Administration.
