Glenn R. “Russel” Hatch

Glenn R. “Russel” Hatch, age 82 of York, NE., died Monday, May 10, 2004 at York. He was born December 25, 1921 at Hyde, Colorado to Thomas C. and Sarah R. (Smith) Hatch and was baptized in the Baptist Church. He was a self-employed truck driver for many years and then was employed by the Farmers Coop in York for the past five years. Russell served in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He was an avid horse lover, enjoyed dancing and reading western novels.

He is survived by his nephew, David (Brenda) Ahlman of Wisner, NE; two nieces, Janice (Dean) Newton of Wayne, NE and Sarah Starks of Omaha, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at the Metz Chapel in York with the Reverend Lee Seetin officiating. Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery at Thayer, NE.
