Earl "Tom" Hart

Earl “Tom” Hart, 63, died at 9:07 a.m. Fri. Jan. 1, 2010 at the V.A. Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He was born March 29, 1946 in Chattanooga, TN, to Earl Thomas & Elizabeth (Addleman) Hart. The U.S. Navy veteran served from 1963 to 1974. Throughout his life Tom worked for Dale Electronics, the State of Nebraska, Champion Homes and Schaffer Trucking. He was a member of the American Legion #19, past Master Mason at Masonic Lodge # 56, Elks, Lions, Eagles #3990 and was active in the Boy Scouts of America – Troop #172 all of York, NE. He was also a volunteer and supporter of the York Adopt A Pet in York, NE.

On Sept. 25, 1966 he married Janice Diane Haines in Las Vegas, NV and they were blessed with 4 children. He is survived by his wife of 43 years who resides in Granite City, formerly of York, NE, 1 daughter and son-in-law, Cindy & John Hollembeak of Swansea, IL, 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, E. Thomas & Kim Hart of York, NE and Dale Alan Hart of Granite City,a sister, Emily (Joe) Gonnerman of York, NE, a brother, Albert (Leigh) Lundy of Lincoln, NE, 4 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant twin son, Martin James Hart and a brother, Harry Hart.

Memorial services with military honors was held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Metz Mortuary in York, NE. Per his request, cremation was at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory in Illinois. www.wojstrom.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to York Adopt a Pet or to the family.
