After Herbert’s retirement they built a small home in Waco, NE where they lived in the summer and spent winters traveling in a fifth-wheel trailer and later in a motor home for the winter. They enjoyed their family and traveled until Herbert’s death in 1995. Following Herbert’s death, Ruth moved to Heartland Park in Seward where she remained for six years. She then moved to Seward Manor for a short time and back to Heartland in 2007. Ruth enjoyed visiting with people and everywhere she lived, she made new friends. She enjoyed family, collecting dolls, crafts, reading, word puzzles and activities with friends.
