Betty Groenke

Betty Groenke age 74 of York, NE died Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at York. She was born January 30, 1933 in Turner, Missouri to William “Bill” and Pearl (Widener) Garrison. Betty was formerly employed at Grand Central Super Valu in York for five years. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, needlepointing and spending time with her family. On March 3, 1952 she was married to William “Bill” Groenke at Winfield, KS.

She is survived by her husband William “Bill” Groenke of York, three sons, John and his wife Connie Groenke and Bill and his wife Dianna Groenke all of York. Fred and his wife Donna Groenke of Grand Island. One daughter Cheryl Goertzen of Bradshaw. Eleven Grandchildren and seven Great Grandchildren Also surviving is a brother Joe and his wife Fran Garrison of Prescott Valley, AZ and a sister Judy and her husband Fred Brewer of Nixa, Missouri, and one aunt Wilma Topper of Winfield, KS. Many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepfather Jim Brewer.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 20, 2007 at the Metz Chapel in York. Private family inurnment followed at a later date.
