Mary A. Green

Mary A. Green, age 92 of York, died Friday, November 4, 2005 at York. She was born October 27, 1913 at Bee, NE to Frank and Mary (Blazek) Zavodny. Mary was married to James Jicka on April 25, 1950 and he preceded her in death. On November 19, 1982, she married John Green. Mr. Green died in 1994. Mary worked at St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island for many years before moving to York. She is survived by her sister Celestine Hackworth of Granite Falls, WA; sister-in-law Delores Zavodny of York; nephews Gary (Mary Jane) Hackworth of Seattle, WA, David (Sherry) Hackworth of Franklin, VA, Terry Hackworth and niece Dyann Hackworth both of Washington state. Also surviving are Zavodny nieces & nephews, Linda Wyzard of York, Allan (Sue) Zavodny of York and George M. (Sheila) Zavodny of Weston. Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents and brother George L. Zavodny.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at 10:00 am at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in York with Fr. Leo Seiker officiating. Rosary services will be Tuesday at 6:30 at Metz. Burial will be at the Bee Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Joseph’s Church in York. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9-9 at Metz Mortuary.
