Lyman Georges
Lyman M. Georges, age 75 of York, NE died Friday, May 25, 2007 at Wahoo, NE. He was born on January 8, 1932 to Carl and Opal (Boatman) Georges in Nemeha County. On July 14, 1950 he was united in marriage to Deloris Vice at Auburn, NE. He was a member of the New Life Church of the Nazarene.
Lyman was a self-taught mechanic, owning and operating Lyman’s General Repair for over 25 years. He collected old tractors and enjoyed rebuilding old cars. He was a member of the Nifty Fifties Ford Club. After he retired from his repair shop, he spent the last five years working with his son Rick, for his mobile home business.
Lyman had a great love for his church. He was a dedicated family man. He was kind, patient, and was always looking out for others. He was quiet, but when he spoke there was truly meaning behind his words. His family reminisces about his love for chocolate. A true chocolate lover finds ways to accommodate his passion with his lifestyle.
For Lyman, his family was his passion.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Deloris of York; two sons: Rick and his wife Sherri Georges of Stromsburg, NE and Randy and Jacqua Georges of Waco, NE; six grandchildren: Matt, Erin, Carle, Jamie, Carl, and Justin; and three great-grandchildren: Hannah, Aayeshia, and Sergio, and many “special grandchildren.” Also surviving are two sisters: Margaret and her husband Wayne Rowell of Omaha, NE and Ruth and her husband Kenneth Dietrich of Kearney, MO; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Louetta Lound.
Funeral services were held May 30, 2007 at the New Life Church of the Nazarene in York. Burial followed at York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
