Larry Funk

Larry G. Funk age 69 of Lincoln, NE died Monday, April 14, 2008 in Lincoln surrounded by his family. He was born July 25, 1938 at Central City, NE to Arthur B and Hazel (Hillyer) Funk and graduated from Central City High School. Larry sold farm machinery for many years and also owned and operated “Arrive In Style” Limousines in Kansas City. He was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous from age 29 until his death. On May 6, 1960 he was married to Patricia Ann Gray in Yorkshire, England. Then on November 20, 1962 Larry was married to Judith Marie Cobb in Kansas City, MO. On July 25, 1979 he was married to Beverly Jo Klemsz at York.

He is survived by two sons, Mike and his wife Melissa Funk of Mansfield, TX and Leon Skilleter of Arlington, TX. Three daughters, Michele Funk of Omaha, Renee and her husband Kevin Gierhan of Utica and Andrea Fraire of Omaha. 11 Grandchildren 2 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Marvin Funk.

Military inurnment services were held 4:00 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Greenwood Cemetery in York. Larry’s body was cremated so there was no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or to Alcoholics Anonymous.
