Olga Friesen
Olga Janzen Friesen was born August 13, 1917 to Jacob D. and Helena (Peters) Janzen on a farm two miles west of Henderson, NE. She completed her earthly life December 2, 2009. Olga attended grade school at District 77 and graduated from Henderson High School. Upon confession of faith in Christ as her personal savior, she was baptized by Rev. A.W. Friesen and received into Bethesda Church membership where she remained a member until her death.
On March 6, 1938 Olga was united in marriage to Albert H. Friesen. They were married for 38 years and were blessed with three sons, Roger, Russell and Rondell.
Olga was well-known in Henderson as a hard worker. She worked at Friesen IGA for 33 years. Followed by additional employment at Stop 2 Shop, Sno Queen, Dutch Kitchen and Henderson Hospital kitchen, retiring from her last job at age 85!
Preceding Olga in death were her parents, husband Albert, brother Walt Janzen, sisters Tina Friesen, Anna Goertzen, Goldie Wall and Delores Kroeker, and daughter-in-law, Deb Friesen.
Left to mourn her absence are her sons, Roger (Nancy) Friesen of Gypsum, CO, Russell (Carol) Friesen of Lincoln, NE, and Rondell (Jeanette) Friesen of Henderson; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Other survivors include her brother Henry (Jean) Janzen of Henderson; sisters Clara Ratzlaff of Henderson and Doris Graber of Pretty Prairie, KS; brothers and sisters-in-law, Melvin Kroeker of Seward, NE, Elva Janzen of Henderson, Erna Peters of Henderson and Willard (Bertha) Friesen of Henderson, plus many more family and friends.
Graveside services will be at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at the Bethesda Cemetery, Henderson, NE. Memorial services will follow at 10:00 a.m., at the Bethesda Mennonite Church with the Reverends Weldon Martens and Jim Voth officiating. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m., Sunday and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday at the mortuary in Henderson. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8 P.M.
