Lucille Friesen

Lucille E. Friesen, age 90, of Henderson, NE, died Monday, March 21, 2011 at Henderson. She was born October 10, 1920 at Bridgeport, OK to John D. and Agnes (Dick) Pankratz. Lucille attended school at District 38 in Hamilton County and graduated from Henderson High School in 1938. She was united in marriage to Peter E. Friesen on October 10, 1939 at Henderson. The union was blessed with five children. Lucille was a member of Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson and Mission Circle 1. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, and gardening.

Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Roy (Phyllis) Friesen of Greeley, CO and Glen Friesen of Hampton; three daughters, Treva Rosenthal of Margate, FL, Pamela (Rick) Oetken of Akron, IA, and Audrey (Paul) Janzen of Henderson; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister Lu (Eugene) Bergen of Henderson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son-in-law Alan.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson, NE with the Reverend Jim Voth officiating. Burial followed in the Bethesda Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Henderson Care Center.
