Leslie Friesen
Leslie Friesen age 84 of Henderson, NE died Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at Henderson. He was born October 5, 1921 in Henderson to Bernhard H. and Katharina (Pankratz) Friesen. He was united in marriage to Martha Wall on August 13, 1944 in Henderson. Les was a longtime farmer and a member of the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson. He had a great love for music and enjoyed being a part of the church’s chancel choir and the men’s quartet. He was a member of the volunteer fire department, an avid sports fan, enjoyed fishing, and restoring tractors.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Vicky and her husband Gary Mierau of Denver, CO and their children, Tobin and his wife Kerry Friesen of Denver, Jamie and her husband Matthew Lindsay of Washington, DC; sons, Carey and his wife Jan Friesen of Henderson and their children Andrea and her husband Michael Wall of Salem, OR, Abbie Friesen of Sioux Falls, SD, and Robin and his wife Valerie Friesen of Henderson and their children Bailey and McKenna Friesen of Henderson. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents, wife, and his sister Anna.
Memorial services were held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 29, 2006 at the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson with the Reverend George Kaufman officiating. Private family burial was at Friesen Cemetery in Henderson. Memorials may be directed to the Mennonite Central Committee, Hunger Relief, 121 East 30th St., P.O. Box 235, North Newton, KS 67117.
