Irene Friesen

Irene R. Friesen, age 86 of Lincoln, died Wednesday, July 12, 2006 in Lincoln. Irene was born on a farm near Henderson on October 4, 1919 to George H. and Helena (Kroeker) Friesen. She attended York College and received her Masters from UNL. Irene taught 2nd grade in Henderson and Aurora. She was a member of the Arbor Drive Community Church in York, Delta Kappa Gamma and Nebraska Retired Teachers Assn.

She is survived by her sister Leona Janzen of Lincoln; nieces and nephews, Melva Friesen of Henderson, Ronald Friesen of Texarkana, TX, Marlin Friesen of Columbia, MD, Oris Friesen of Scottsdale, AZ, H. Joe Friesen of Las Cruces, NM, Carol Friesen of Tuscon, AZ, Roy Friesen of Phoenix, AZ, Burl Janzen of Grand Island, Valerie Janzen and Velma Janzen of Lincoln and Dwight Janzen of Chicago, IL. Preceding her in death were her parents, sister Edna and brother Harry H.

Funeral services were held on Monday July 17, 2006 at 10:30 am at the Arbor Drive Community Church in York with the Rev. Keith Bateman and Bob Rice of the Lincoln Berean Church officiating. Burial was at the Bethesda Mennonite Cemetery at Henderson. Memorials may be directed to the donors choice.
