Gladys Friesen

Gladys Huebert Friesen, age 98 of Henderson, NE, died Monday, February 15, 2010 at Henderson. She was born on April 17, 1911 in rural Hamilton County to Peter E. and Marie (Pankratz) Huebert. Gladys was united in marriage to Herman I. Friesen on August 2, 1931 at Madrid, NE. She was a member of the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson.

Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Janice Siebert, Marlene (Walt) Ott, and Joan (E. James) Friesen all of Henderson, NE; one son Lloyd Friesen of Omaha, NE; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 3 great great-grandchildren. Gladys is also survived by her sister Freda Epp of Henderson and 2 sisters-in-law, Louise Huebert of York, NE and Dorothy VanDyck of Denton, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father Frank F. Dick, husband, brother, Peter Huebert, half brother Harry VanDyck, 2 step-brothers, August Dick and Fred Dick, step-sister Anna Anslinger, granddaughter Debra Ott and son-in-law Arlin Siebert.

Committal services were held at 9:00 a.m., Friday, February 19, 2010 at Metz Mortuary in Henderson. Burial was in the Bethesda Cemetery. Memorial services followed at 10:00 a.m., at the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson with the Reverends Weldon Martens and Jim Voth officiating. Memorials may be directed to the Mennonite Biblical Seminary or the Bethesda Scholarship Fund.
