Esther Friesen

Esther Catharine Friesen age 84 of Henderson, Nebraska died Thursday, February 03, 2005 at Henderson. She was born May 12, 1920 at Oklahoma City, OK and was later adopted by H. Albert and Catharine (Andreas) Claassen. Esther was a member of the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson and was active in the mission circle and taught Sunday School for many years. She also enjoyed needlework and played the violin for 75 years. On August 7, 1941, she was married to Ruben H. Friesen at Freeman, S.D. She is survived by a son Mark and his wife Veronica Friesen of Aurora, Nebraska and a daughter Donna and her husband Leroy Friesen of Menno, S.D.; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister Betty Von Rissen of Edmund, OK; sister-in-laws, Neva Claassen and Marie Friesen of Henderson and a brother-in-law, Levi H. (Elizabeth) Friesen of Aurora. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Elmer Claassen.

Memorial services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Monday at the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson with the Reverend George Kaufman officiating. Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Bethesda Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to M.C.C. Visitation begins at 5:00 p.m. Saturday.
