Donald I. Friesen
Donald I. Friesen, age 81 of Henderson, died Sunday, July 11, 2004 at York. He was born February 10, 1923 at Henderson to George W. and Anna (Koss) Friesen. Don was a 1941 graduate of Henderson High School, was a veteran of WWII and drove for Standard Oil in Henderson for 23 years. He married Ruth A. Wach on June 19, 1949 at Henderson. He was a member of the Emmanuel Reformed Church in Sutton and thoroughly enjoyed being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Donald was an avid coin collector and enjoyed traveling.
urvivors include his wife Ruth of Henderson; son Steve (Sera) Friesen of Henderson and daughter Julie (Ardean) Buller also of Henderson; grandchildren, Jennifer (Stephen) Socha of Lincoln, Dan (Darcy) Friesen of Henderson, Mandy Friesen of Lincoln, Michelle Buller of Phoenix, AZ., Chad Buller of Owatonna, MN, and Todd Buller of Henderson; great-grandchildren, Andrew and Kyle Socha of Lincoln. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Edna M. Friesen and Mae Friesen both of Henderson and brothers-in-law Lawrence (Shirley) Wach and Kenneth (Talitha) Wach all of Sutton. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, George Anthony Friesen and Paul L. Friesen.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 14, 2004 at Emmanuel Reformed Church in Sutton with the Rev. Dan Rogers officiating. Burial will be in the Friesen Cemetery west of Henderson. Memorials may be directed to the Henderson Fire Department.
